You will discover medieval romantic towns with half-timbered framed buildings,steam railways and historic mines that brought wealth and prosperity to this region. Enjoy this blend of natural beauty, fascinating history, and unforgettable experiences.

Suggested Programme

Day 1

Arrival in the Harz Mountains Your adventure begins as we gather at the charming town of Wernigerode. After a warm welcome and group orientation, we’ll enjoy a delicious local dinner together, getting to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2

Start the day with a city tour of Quedlinburg. This medieval town is like in a fairytale and not only historically interesting, but also a sensual experience with lots of fantastic views. Then the tour takes you further through the wild Harz scenery. You will pass the largest dam in Central Germany and you will see the famous Rubeländer Caves. On the way back to the hotel, we stop for a coffee at the Monastery of Michaelstein.

Day 3

Discover the Harz Mountains with the famous “Harzer” narrow gauge railway and head to the summit of the Brocken, the highest peak of the Harz Mountains, where you have a wonderful scenic view of the region. You continue your railway journey through picturesque scenery to Wernigerode, where your tour guide will introduce you to the highlights of this colourful Harz town or make a stop for a guided tour at the Hexentanzplatz (“Witches Dance Floor”) in the Harz Mountains.

Day 4

The imperial city of Goslar known as the “Rome of the North” is well worth a visit. Where emperors and kings once ruled, visitors today find a lively city with picturesque streets and squares for strolling, lingering, shopping, enjoying and relaxing. The special atmosphere of Goslar with its mixture of tradition, history and modernity will be experienced on this city tour through the UNESCO World Heritage site. Afterwards visit either The Rammelsberg ore mine which shows the important tradition of mining in Goslar and the Harz or take a guided tour of the Monastery Distillery of Wöltingerode just outside Goslar.
