Day 1

Arrival and dinner at your hotel.

Day 2

Travel to Lucerne and explore this magnificent city with a guide. The mediaeval town centre with its narrow streets, the old bridges (especially the wooden Chapel Bridge which is the oldest covered bridge in Europe), the city walls and the Lion Monument are just a few of the sights not to be missed. You can also enjoy a boat trip on the lake. Relax as you watch the swans glide across the clear waters. We can also heartily recommend a ride on the Pilatus train, the world’s steepest rack railway.

Day 3

Day 4

You can take your pick of several day trips next. Visits to Bern, Basel or Zurich are just a few examples. You may also wish to make a trip to the lakeside towns of Brienz and Interlaken. A scenic drive will take you over the Brunig Pass to the 1000-year-old village of Brienz. Have a wander around this lovely town before taking a trip on the steam-hauled Brienzer Rothorn cog railway. Afterwards continue along the lakeshore to the famous resort of Interlaken.

Day 5

1 x guided city tour Lucerne max. 2 hrs
1 x one-way ride on Glacier Express between Chur and Andermatt (2nd class)

Tip:

Why not extend your stay to include a trip to the tiny principality of Liechtenstein and its capital Vaduz? Stop at the wooden town of Werdenberg on the way, the smallest town in Switzerland, with its buildings from the 15th and 17th centuries. We also recommend visiting the resort of Appenzell, well known for its cheese.
