The Three Faces of Tyrol
Enjoy the splendours of Tyrol – glacier covered mountains, medieval towns and wine.
Suggested Programme
Arrival and dinner at your hotel.
Visit North Tyrol and visit the pretty town of Kitzbühel. Enjoy some window-shopping or a coffee at one of the street cafés. A horse and carriage ride or a trip up one of the mountains on a cable car is also highly recommended.
A pinnacle of your visit will be a journey along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. The Grossglockner is Austria’s highest mountain (3.798 m) and its glacier, the Pasterze, is located amidst a unique world of mountains, blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant forests and massive cliffs.
Along your route, you can find many highlights such as the „Edelweißspitze“, the highest point on the road or the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe Visitors’ centre. On arrival at the visitors centre, you will have a spectacular view of the Grossglockner summit and the glacier below.
Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for the local wildlife – the marmots, and don’t forget your camera!
In East Tyrol you can visit the town of Lienz. This is a charming small city where you will constantly meet the past and the present. Enjoy a guided tour and a relaxing day in this sunny region of Tyrol.
Journey to South Tyrol and the town of Bolzano where you meet your local guide for a guided tour through the old town. Here you will see the highlights of the capital of South Tyrol such as the Walther square and the cathedral.
Afterwards, you have time to explore the town on your own or to take part in a wine tasting. You then travel to Merano, a town full of history, art and culture and the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.
At Trauttmansdorff Castle, you can discover eighty natural and cultivated landscapes nestled into a natural amphitheatre, a wide array of themed gardens and numerous pavilions and interactive stations. A visit here enchantingly combines the nature, art and culture of South Tyrol.
No visit to Tyrol would be complete without a visit to its capital and the three times Olympic city, Innsbruck. The city is famous for its „Golden Roof“ and the „Hofburg“ palace as well as the excellent shopping on the „Mariahilferstraße“.
An enhancement to your day would be a trip up the Nordpark mountain range where you can enjoy a coffee and cake while admiring the spectacular mountain views, don‘t forget your camera! Enhance the trip with a stopover at the Alpine Zoo on the way up.
Depart for your trip home after breakfast.
