Arrival and dinner at your hotel.
Visit the town of Szczecin, one of the old hanseatic cities, and discover one of the largest harbours of the Baltic sea. During a city tour you will also the see the main points of interest, such as the Ducal Castle, St. James’ Cathedral in the old town, the PAZIM building and the National Sea Museum.
Enjoy a city tour of Gdansk another of the great hanseatic cities. You will get to see highlights such as the old town and the Motlawa River, the maiden in the window, the Royal Chapel of the Polish King – John III Sobieski and the St. Marys church, a municipal church built during the 15th century the largest brick church in the world and is on the UNESCO list.
You can also enjoy a trip on the Elblag canal and sail over water and dry land! Built in the 19th century the Elblag to Ostroda Canal is a unique monument to the art of Hydro-engineering and a very important tourist attraction, as featured in the Michael Palin programme “New Europe”.
We recommend taking the trip from Elblag to Buczyniec, which takes you through the system of five inclined planes, one of the most distinguished achievements of hydraulic engineering in the world, and through the ornithological nature reserve in the Druzno Lake.
Travel around the Masuria region of Poland with a local guide and discover the Lake region of former East Prussia.
Visit the ruins of Hitler’s secret headquarters, the “Wolfschanze” and the famous Maria Sanctuary in Heiligelinde, a magnificent example of late baroque in Poland.
During your trip, you can also enjoy a cosy boat trip on Lake Sniardwy in Mikoljki.
Also on the programme is the City of Torun, mainly known for its medieval old town with its numerous buildings in the style of northern German Gothic brick architecture. Especially worth seeing are the Old Town Hall, the Parish Church of St. Johann and St. Mary’s Church.
You also get to visit the Peppercake museum in Torun where you can prepare the cake mixture and bake the Torun specialities in wooden moulds before decorating them with sugar.
