Arrival and dinner at your hotel.
Today you will discover Augustusburg, also known as the „Crown of the Ore Mountains“. From Erdmannsdorf reach the castle with the „Old lady“, a cabble railway, which exists already since 1911. After a short walk you will be rewarded with a spectacular view above the Zschopau River valley. There is hardly another castle in Germany offering such a variety of cultural events and educational opportunities. Beside a Motorcycle Museum, the visitor will find exhibitions of game and birds, of coaches as well as the history of hunting and the castle itself. Experience the fascination of the huntig lodge and summer palace with a tour guide. Fresh strengthened after lunch visit the Motorcycle Museum, which houses one of the largest and most extensive collections of two-wheelers in Europe. Afterwards the „Old Lady“ will bring you safely back down to the valley.
Spend one day in Dresden. Experience the diversity of the city with ist impressive sights like the Semper Opera and the church of our lady during a city tour. In the afternoon you will head to the wine town Meissen. Stroll through the picturesque old town with its medieval centre. Visit the world of wine experience brought to life by the Meissen winemaker’s association. During a guided tour through the cellars you will have an entertaining and exciting insight into the beginning of winegrowing. They will show you how wines are produced – from the vine to the barrel – and grant you an insight into their well-established enterprise. Get enchanted by the charm that the cellar radiates and enjoy a glass of welcoming secco and a double winetasting.
Discover Chemnitz with a city tour. Explore the eventful history of the city with its special charm. A tour guide will show you the stunning sights of Chemnitz such as the Red Tower and the Theaterplatz. Your next stop will be the Fichtelbergbahn in Cranzahl. During your trip with the historical steam train to Oberwiesenthal the picturesque view will fascinate you. Arrived at the highest situated city in Germany enjoy the natural beauty at the health resort with some coffee and a piece of cake, before you will go back to the hotel.
Visit also Leipzig, the second largest city of Saxony. During a city tour enjoy the impressive architecture and follow in the tracks of world-famous composers like Johann Sebastian Bach. Afterwards you have some free time at your disposal. Discover the Leipzig zoo, which is with about 850 species one of the most species-rich zoo in Europe. As alternative visit the the Panometer, an exhibition with impressive 360°-panorama images of the Berlin artist Yadegar Asisi.
