Your nostalgic journey starts with a trip on the „Old Master“, the Ziller valley steam train. Enjoy the green pastures of this fertile valley as your train chugs along from Fügen to Mayrhofen.
On arrival at Mayrhofen you have some free time to explore this popular summer and winter resort. Why not visit the show dairy to learn how Tyrolean cheese is made, or enjoy a horse and carriage ride through the fresh country air.
Alternatively take a ride up one of the gondolas for some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
Visit the capital of Tyrol and the three times Olympic city, Innsbruck, famous for its „Golden Roof“ and the „Hofburg“ Palace as well as the excellent shopping on the „Maria-Theresien-straße“.
An enhancement to your day would be a trip up the Nordpark mountain range where you can enjoy a coffee and cake while admiring the spectacular mountain views, don‘t forget your camera! Enhance the trip with a stopover at the Alpine Zoo on the way up.
In the Salzburg region of Austria, you board the narrow gauge „Pinzgau“ steam train as it meanders its way through one of the most picturesque areas of Austria, the „Pinzgau“ valley.
Spend some free time in the lakeside resort of Zell am See or visit the famous town of Kitzbühel.
The Achensee steam train is Europe‘s oldest steam driven rack and pinion railway. The train climbs majestically to the edge of Lake Achensee, the largest lake in Tyrol. Where you can enjoy a coffee and cake while admiring the spectacular mountain backdrop.
A nice addition to the day would be a short boat trip on the Lake. Worth adding to the day is a visit to the glass town of Rattenberg.
