Lake Geneva and the Golden Pass
The Lake Geneva Region is a miniature version of Switzerland, as you can find nearly everything that Switzerland is famous for.
Suggested Programme
Arrival and dinner at your hotel.
Discover the region of Lake Geneva with its picturesque villages and vineyards. Travel to the Lavaux region with its spectacular UNESCO vineyards dropping down to Lake Geneva. To explore the region closer we recommend a trip on one of the two little trains (Lavaux Express and Lavaux Panoramic) and a stop in a wine cellar for a well-earned break.
You then visit the city of Lausanne, home to the Olympic Museum, and from where we recommend you take a boat trip across the lake to Montreux.
An excellent day out is a trip on the Golden Pass Panoramic train between Montreux and Gstaad. During the spectacular journey, you will travel through the vineyard terraces of Lake Geneva, the pastures and forest of Upper Gruyère and over inspiring mountain passes.
The day offers excellent photo opportunities and wonderful memories of Switzerland and time to wander around the famous jet set resort of Gstaad
A trip along the French coast of Lake Geneva will bring you to the elite Spa town of Evian, home to the world famous “Evian” mineral water. In the late 19th century, the town was home to over 20 hotels, and the hills and lakeshore were once covered with noble houses and luxurious villas.
Enjoy some free time before continuing on to the medieval village of Hermance, one of the most picturesque villages of the region. The village dates back to the 13th century, and has been designated as part of the “Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites”. The beautiful church dominates the village, which invites you to wander down its narrow lanes and visit the cafes and shops. You can then end your day with a visit to the city of Geneva.
Depart for your trip home after breakfast.
