Suggested Programme
Day 1
Frankfurt. Arrival and dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Frankfurt
Day 2
Rhine Valley. Today we visit the ancient university town of Heidelberg and his Castle. Heidelberg castle has been described as the most beautiful castle ruin of Germany and enjoys a prominent location overlooking the town. During our visit we include the funicular to the castle and a tour around the courtyard and the Castle garden.
This afternoon we continue to the Black Forest for a two-night stay.
Day 3
Rhine Valley & Black Forest. This morning we discover the famous Black Forest. During our exploration we visit Rhine Falls, where you can enjoy an boat ride to admire the roaring masses and the power of the water. We continue to the town of Triberg, home to the magnificent Triberg Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Germany. Finally, we finish the day with a stop at the traditional cuckoo clocks.
Day 4
Black Forest. Today we continue to Munich for an overnight stay, calling at Ulm. The medieval town of Ulm is known for being the birthplace of Albert Einstein and for the Gothic Münster, which has one of the world’s highest bell towers. Enjoy an included guided walking tour to take in the city’s sights. We continue to Munich for a two-night-stay.
Day 5
Munich. Enjoy a full day in wonderful Munich where we include a morning guided walking tour to introduce you to the city. In the heart of Munich is the Marienplatz, a large open square named after the Mariensäule, a Marian column in its centre. You will have the afternoon at leisure to explore at your own pace.
Day 6
Nuremberg. We travel through Bavaria to Regensburg, renowned as one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Germany. On arrival you can enjoy an guided sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city, complete with a tasting of the ‘Nürnberger Bratwurst’, the city’s famous sausage! Overnight in Nürnberg.
Day 7
Dresden. Our first stop today is in Dresden, the enchanting capital of Saxony. Set on the banks of the lovely Elbe River, Dresden has a remarkable history which rose proudly from the dark days or World War II. On arrival we include a sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city. Overnight in Dresden.
Day 8
Berlin. Today’s first stop is Kromlauer Rhododendron Park where you can see the extraordinary ‘Rakotzbrucke’, also known as the devil’s bridge. Commissioned in 1860, the delicately arched bridge was specifically built to create a circle when reflected in the waters beneath. Following a photo stop, we continue to the enchanting Spree Forest. We explore the sparkling labyrinth of fascinating green wetlands, thick forests, and romantic streams by boat. This evening we arrive in Berlin for an overnight.
Day 9
Hamburg. Berlin, Germany’s capital, where we include a sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city, pointing out and explaining the interesting stories behind the array of Berlin’s famous sights. This afternoon we travel to Germany’s ‘Pearl of the North’ Hamburg. Overnight in Hamburg.
Day 10
Düsseldorf. In this morning we will get to know Hamburg, on our sightseeing tour, highlights include the incredible Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall, historic docks, and Neo-Renaissance style city hall. In the afternoon we continue our Journey to Düsseldorf. Overnight in Düsseldorf.
Day 11
Cologne. In the morning enjoy free time for shopping in one of the most famous shopping streets in Germany; the Koenigsallee, known locally as the “Kö”. Enjoy a stroll along the Rhine Promenade, where you can see landmarks such as the Schlossturm tower or St. Lambertus church. Continuation until Cologne. Overnight in Cologne.
Day 12
Frankfurt. Travel in the Morning to Frankfurt Airport and departure. Goodbye!
