Encounter the true UNESCO nature sites of Podlaskie region

Podlaskie is a historical region in the North of Poland with a mixture of populations such as Polish, White Russian, Germans, Russians, Tatars and Lithuanians. Looking after the natural habitat is for the local inhabitants highly important and during your trip you will get to see three of Poland’s most beautiful National Parks.

Suggested Programme

Day 1

Arrival and dinner at your hotel.

Day 2

Day 3

Visit to the town of Augustow and its old market before continuing on to Wigry Lake, the largest of more than 40 lakes in Wigry National Park. Enjoy a boat trip on the lake and delight in the picturesque countryside before continuing to the Camaldolese Convent in Wigry.

Your day then ends with a visit to the town of Suwalken, known for its classical centre, the Alexander Cathedral, the Town Hall and the clock tower.

Day 4

Discover the Tartars path, which lies on Sokolkam Bohoniki and Kruszyniany. Once populated by numerous Tartars led by King John III, Sobieski, there are now only a few surviving descendants that continue the traditions of their ancestors.

Your day continues with a trip to Tykocin, where the Baroque market place and the large synagogue are worth a visit and further to Bialystok, the largest city in Northern Poland. Dinner in your hotel in Bialowieza at the outskirts of National Park.

Day 5

Visit the small town of Hajnowka and its orthodox Cathedral, the Holy Trinity, before continuing through picturesque landscapes to the primeval forest of the Bialowieza National Park where the narrow gauge railway will then take you to Topilo Lake.

The railway was built during the Second World War by the Germans in order to transport timber. In the afternoon, visit the Bison reservation where you can also see wild boar, wolfs and elks.
