City Break Zagreb
Get to know the capital of Croatia, its history and inhabitants and the picturesque countryside around.
Suggested Programme
Arrival and dinner at your hotel.
Enjoy a tour of the city with your city guide. Discover the highlights of this historical city, such as the main square, the Cathedral, the Baroque Archbishop’s Palace and the famous St. Marcus church.
Discover the Plitvicer Lakes national park, one of the most beautiful natural phenomena known to the world. Sixteen lakes surrounded by thick forests and joined with 92 waterfalls – it is no wonder that the National Park was declared an UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.
During your visit, enjoy a walk through the park and a boat trip on the Kozjak Lake, after which you have time to relax in the wonderful countryside.
We suggest a journey into the surrounding countryside of Zagreb, through the rolling hills of the wine growing region with its vineyards, small churches and fortresses.
Zagorje, in the north of Croatia, has over 50 castles and mansion houses, many of which have wonderful parks and gardens.
Here you visit the Trakoscan castle with its museum inside and the Veliki Tabor fortress. Afterwards you continue your journey to the old city of Varazdin.
Extend your stay, combine with another tour or start on your homeward journey.
On your way home, we highly recommend a visit to Sambor, a village full of arts and crafts and well known for its Vanilla pudding cake.
